I’m not sure if thinking about the weekend on a Monday is uplifting, or upsetting. What do you reckon? I’m hoping the former! If not, hopefully the thought of an Easter bank holiday softens the blow…
This weekend was a fun one, so I wanted to share what I got up to.
I’ve been feeling a bit frazzled lately, so I booked myself in for a Friday facial.
Straight after work on a Friday is a great time to do something to treat yourself. It really feels like the working week has ended and gets your weekend off to a great start.
I got as much enjoyment out of looking forward to this as I did from the facial itself!
On Saturday I had a nice slow start, before catching up with a friend over tea and cake at the Madhatter’s tea room.
As you might guess from the name, it’s Alice and Wonderland themed, and the magical decor really did make you feel like you’d gone down he rabbit hole!
We went mid-afternoon and they didn’t have a great cake selection left, which was a shame, but it’s definitely somewhere I’d like to try again.
You probably know (thanks, Google doodle), that Sunday was the first official day of spring. The weather has obviously heard, as it was a beautiful day in Nottingham.
We jumped in the car and headed to a local park to take advantage of the sunshine. Dare I say it, at times it almost felt hot.
The spring theme continued when we spotted a tiny baby rabbit hopping it’s way about the park. I’m not really an animal person, but it was very cute. I’m sure this isn’t at all impressive to people who live in the country, but I just managed to grab a rubbish phone photo before it hopped off.
I’m a big F1 fan, so we went home to watch the first race of the season before heading out for a late Sunday lunch. I had pork belly, followed by apple bakewell tart with proper vanilla custard.
All in all, a great way to top off a lovely weekend.
What did you get up to?
