I know – Monday is the last thing you want to think about right now (or ever). But with a little prep you can make your Monday more bearable and start your week off right. Here’s how.
What is there to be positive about on a Monday? Well, it’s a fresh start and a new chance to achieve the things you want to achieve. Dwelling on how terrible Mondays are really doesn’t help.
Have a great breakfast
Getting up that little bit earlier and taking the time to have a nice breakfast is such a nice way to start your morning. There’s nothing like a good breakfast to set you up for the day! My breakfast of choice at the moment is tinned peaches with yoghurt and granola. If you’re feeling more adventurous, Nia at The Cardiff Cwtch has some great ideas.
Wear something killer
Whether it’s your favourite lipstick or a fab pair of heels, Monday is the day to play your style ace card. A classic case of ‘fake it til you make it’, go to work looking great and your mood will soon follow suit.
Take or buy a nice lunch
Friday tends to be the day people treat themselves to a nice lunch. But Fridays are good enough as they are – why not do it on Monday instead? If you’re more organised, make something extra tasty and you’ll be looking forward to it all morning.
Plan something for your evening
I always try to do a gym class after work on a Monday. It sets the week off right and gives me something to look forward to throughout the day. If you’re not feeling getting active, make Monday the night you catch up with a friend or your favourite TV show.
