So, I’m not doing that. But I do want to talk about my break from blogging.
Between January and May this year I was posting twice a week, taking part in Twitter chats and leaving lots of comments on all the brilliant blogs I was reading. I felt like I was on a roll.
At the start of May I moved house. It was an easy move and I wasn’t ridiculously busy, but it seemed reasonable to give myself a little break from my blog.
A month on and I am still not back into the swing of things. It seems now I’m out of the habit I don’t have the time or the inclination to busy myself with all things blog again.
I feel like I’m busier than before and I’m always doing things which mean I can’t do my blog. I don’t think I am any busier than before – I’ve just forgotten how to make time.
The less I think about my blog the less ideas I seem to have, so as well as a lack of time there’s a lack of inspiration, too. It seems taking a short break from your blog can be a dangerous thing!
It’s not just your blog which benefits from routine – things like going to the gym and healthy eating also seem easier the more you do them, and really hard to get back to after a break. So I guess the moral of this story is to keep on keeping on!
If anyone has any tips for getting back into a routine I would love to hear them! I really enjoyed being more active with my blog and I want to get back into the swing of things.
